Town
Computer, continuing in a commitment to giving back to the
community, provides free, basic computer training to underprivileged
individuals in Mattapan and Dorchester. This
training includes lessons on computer components and their
functions, operating systems, networking and the Internet, MS
Word, PowerPoint and Excel, creating resumes and performing
job searches.
You
can help support this project by donating your old computer
equipment and providing the opportunity for this program to
expand to serve more people.
Why
donate your old computer equipment?
Town
Computer, through its Community Partnership Program, opens
doors to technology to economically disadvantaged persons who
otherwise would not have had the chance to operate or own a
computer. Thanks to our free computer training program, not only do these
individuals benefit from the hardware and software
introductory training, they also have the privilege of
bringing home a system and the ability to continue their
technology experience at home.
When
you donate your equipment to Town Computer’s Community
Partnership Program there is no charge and we take every step
to protect your personal information by destroying identifying
information on the PC, like labels and tags, and formatting
and reprogramming the hard drive.
You
also benefit by receiving a coupon for 10% off any PC repair
service or towards the purchase of a new PC.
